Piecemakers
We encourage and promote the art of quilting. Each year we make a quilt to raffle off with the proceeds going to Saint John's School Endowment Fund. We are an ecumenical service-oriented club and make "Caring Quilts" for Elizabeth House and Waunakee Neighborhood Connection. Our fall quilt show has a silent auction and quilt sale and the proceeds go to local charities. For information about our quilt club, you can contact Doris Ast at 849.5482.
Bakers for Parish Projects
Saint John's baker provides a variety of baked goods for special parish events such as baking cookies for college students. If you love to bake and would like to share you talent please call the parish office.
SCRIP
Scrip is one of Saint John's major fundraisers. Scrip gift cards can be purchased for everyday needs, like groceries, gas, clothing and entertainment. Saint John purchased gift cards at a discount from a National Scrip company and local retailers. Example: purchase a $100.00 gift that has a 4% discount and the earned profit for Saint John would be $4.00. The program costs you nothing to participate and has a tremendous impact on our church. You can purchase Scrip gift cards at the parish office. This is a wonderful and easy way to help raise money for our parish.
Funeral Dinners
This group prepares a meal for families and friends of a deceased member of Saint John's. The meal is served after the funeral Mass in the school cafeteria. If you would like to help out please contact the parish office.
Prayer Chain
Saint John's Prayer Network has been established to assist those in needs through the power of prayer. Members of the prayer ministry are divided into prayer teams and contact one another when a prayer request is received. The use of names is optional. Members are always welcome. Call the parish office with your prayer requests.
Baptismal Robes & Blankets
Babies from our parish receive a crocheted blanket just before their baptism as a welcome to Saint John parish family. Women interested in crocheting and delivering blankets are always welcome. Please contact the parish office.
Bible Study
Saint John offers on going bible study groups thoughout the year. This is a wonderful way to grow in your faith in a small and friendly environment. Contact the parish office to learn more.
Women of Grace
Women of all ages are invited to join as we study the Catholic Faith, and learn how to embrace our gift of femininity and our role as daughters of God. We use a video/workbook study program. We will grow in knowledge of our faith, deepen our prayer lives, meet a variety of women saints, and come to see the Blessed Virgin Mary as our example. Contact the parish office to join.
Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal service organization with more than 1.6 million worldwide members. The local council sponsors activities to promote our faith and to provide support to our church, schools and community.
