Parish Council
The parish council is the voice of Saint John's members by assisting and counseling the pastor in all aspects of the ministry. The Parish Council consists of a total of nine members of our parish family elected by the congregation. Three members are elected each year and each service a three year term.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee assists the Pastor, Business Manager and Trustees with all aspects of parish finances. It provides guidance in decisions relating to all present and future financial needs and issues within our parish community. This includes financial reporting, parish investments, income and stewardship, financial programs, school and religious education, parish life and costs associated with the maintenance of our facilities.
Auction Committe
The Auction Committee is comprised of parish members who coordinate the themed silent/live auction held in December. The annual proceeds of over $30,000 support Saint John School, the Saint John Faith Formation Program and the Saint John Endowment Fund. Parish members are asked to donate items or services for the auction. New members are welcome to join anytime. Please contact the school office at 608.849.5325 for more information.
Parish Facilities Committee
The Parish Facilities committee provides guidance to the leadership of the parish regarding the capital improvement needs of the entire parish campus including the school. The committee will focus on the medium-term (1-3 years) and long term (3+) capital improvements to the parish campus that are necessary to meet the needs of all uses of the facilities.
Cemetery Committee
This group oversees the grounds and maintenance of Saint John's Cemetery. They are also responsible for the management of the Perpetual Care Funds.
Social Events Committee
This group is responsible for the social enhancement of our faith community through planned activities. New members are always welcomed. Please call the parish office.
Festival Committee
The annual festival is held the second weekend in June. The parish festival generates over $50,000.00 for the parish. This festival does require sacrifice and a contribution from every member of the parish. Each member is given a work assignment, is asked to purchase and sell raffle tickets, and provide a donation toward the purchase of food for the dinner. This would be a great way to meet new people and work with many parish members. Members are welcome to join at anytime. Please contact Kim Piazza at kpiazza@stjb.org or 849.5121 Ext. 136
Society of Saint Vincent de Paul
SVdP Conference offers help to those in our community through Home Visits to evaluate a family's need. Home Visits are made by 2 people from local Conference, most importantly the Home Visit is confidential. Referrals to St John/St Mary Conference are made through the local Joining Forces For Families office.
Care Team
Our congregation-based care team offers non-medical, in-home assistance to individuals including family caregivers. The team members offer an array of services including respite, friendly visits and phone calls, assistance with mail, reading and correspondence, shopping, errands and outings.
Training and ongoing support for team members are provided through Catholic Charities . All team members are screened through background checks, and thoroughly trained in topics and techniques such as: confidentiality, limits of care, handling an emergency, active listening skills, safe transfer techniques, infection control and the principles of the team process. The team members provide respectful, confidential compassionate care.
There is no charge to the individual or family for the support and assistance provided by the team. All contacts are confidential and services are offered to persons regardless of race, religious belief or economic status.
