What has three hearts and lots of legs? SQUID!
The 2nd and 3rd graders, with help from their 6th grade friends, dissected squids as part of their science class. The students counted legs, found the three gills and 3 hearts, extracted the pen and opened up the 'ink' sac. This was a great experience in utilizing the scientific method, collaboration across grade levels and leadership responsibilities for our 6th graders.
